Set in the backdrop of a patriarchal Bengali household, Sudakshina, the lead protagonist is an ideal housewife, mother, daughter-in-law, aunt and sister-in-law, who gave up on her dreams of becoming a journalist to become a home maker. Married to Prateek, a bright and upwardly man, at the tender age of 20, Sudakshina developed a passion for collecting sarees to keep herself from drowning in the monotony of everyday routine. Prateek and his family, soon started getting offended by her obsession for sarees and made it the butt of all ridicule, but Sudakshina’s love was resolute. A sudden encounter with old friend, Anirban, brought the ambitious Sudakshina alive in her again, and twists and turns led her to write a story of astounding achievement that inspired all.
